Recently, news has been circulating throughout the Disney creator community that U.S. parks (like WDW & Disneyland) are tightening their enforcement of existing filming and safety rules! 😮🚫📹

With park filming manners becoming a hot topic worldwide, many of you might wonder: "Wait, what about Tokyo Disney? Is it super strict there too?" 😰🇯🇵

Don't worry! Today, I’m bringing you a quick 2026 breakdown comparing overseas parks vs. Tokyo Disney filming rules! 🗺️🔍 Spoiler alert: Tokyo isn't actually "strict"—it just has very clear, predictable rules that make filming super safe and stress-free! Let's dive in! ✈️🏰🎒

Contrary to some headlines, U.S. Disney parks haven't rewritten their rulebooks in 2026. Instead, Cast Members and security are more actively enforcing long-standing policies: 🛑🇺🇸🎬

  1. Stricter Checks on Equipment & "Commercial-Style" Gear 🎙️📸 While personal vacation vlogging is fine, gear that resembles a commercial production (oversized camera setups, large microphones, or tripods that don't fit in a standard backpack / extend over 6ft) is more likely to receive  additional scrutiny from security.

  2. Focus on Attraction Safety & Guest Immersion 📱🤫 Loose items like phones or cameras can pose serious safety risks if dropped on rides, potentially causing attraction stoppas. Cast Members are much more proactive in asking guests to secure phones before dispatch. Loud livestreaming that disrupts other guests' immersion is also being addressed under general park rules. (Note: Disneyland Paris has also updated its written regulations regarding professional gear!)

To international guests, Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR) rules might seem intimidating. But actually, their boundaries are extremely clear-cut. As long as you stay within the lines, you can film completely worry-free! 🙌✨

1. Selfie Sticks & Handgrips 🤳📏

  • Overseas Parks: Selfie sticks and extension poles are completely banned. 🙅‍♂️❌

  • Tokyo Disney: Compact handheld grip attachments that meet the resort’s published size requirements are generally permitted!

    Since size limits are clearly defined on the official website, there's zero guesswork. 🎉

2. Filming Inside Attractions & Shows 🎢📸

  • Overseas Parks: On many high-thrilled attractions , Cast Members are strictly enforcing "no loose items" policies and may stop dispatches if phones or cameras aren't secured. 🚫📱

  • Tokyo Disney: TDR has long maintained strict etiquette against livestreaming and commercial recording. However, personal filming for memories  is generally permitted as long as you follow proper etiquette...turn off flash, hide screen backlight, and obey Cast Member instructions filming is widely permitted inside spots like the Soaring pre-show or Beauty and the Beast! 🦅🌹✨ (High-thrill rides like Tower of Terror completely ban filming for safety).

【Maihama】Shopping Magic Without a Park Ticket! Vol.1: Disney Store🐭🏰 Ikspiari 🛍️✨

 "I couldn't get a park ticket," "It's my last day and I just want to shop before heading to the airport," or "I want to make the most of my arrival day!" — If this sounds like you, I have the perfect spot! 🐭🏰 Located right in front of the JR Maihama Station gates, this is one of the largest Disney Stores in Japan!  ✨ 📍 Basic Info & Access It's located at the "Entry Plaza" on the 2nd floor of Ikspiari. A prime location just a 1-minute walk from the station! 🏃‍♂️💨 Hours : 10:00 AM - 9:00 PM 🕙 Location : Ikspiari 2F (Right by the entrance near Maihama Station) Payments : Credit cards, IC cards (Suica/PASMO), and major QR payments are accepted. 💳📱 🌟 What Makes This Store Amazing?
