📸 Ultimate Guide: Filming at Tokyo Disney Resort! What’s OK, What’s NOT, and Unique Japanese Rules
Hi everyone! I’m Ayumi. 😊
I know many of you visiting Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR) want to capture every magical moment on video or photo! ✍️✨ But did you know that Japanese parks have unique filming rules that are different from the US or other Disney parks? 🏰
Today, I’ve listed the "OK vs. NG" filming spots based on questions I often get from overseas guests. Check this out so you can enjoy your day without being surprised by a Cast Member's warning! ✨
1. Attractions where Filming is OK (With Conditions) ✅
Generally, you can film these, but the golden rules are: "NO Flash" and "Do NOT use the LCD screen (Respect others' views)." 💡
🏰 Tokyo Disneyland (TDL)
Pooh’s Hunny Hunt: Finally, filming is allowed! 🍯 But remember, the rule is "Don’t let the LCD screen glow." It’s best to turn the screen off or film "no-look" while enjoying the ride with your own eyes. 🧸🎈
Enchanted Tale of Beauty and the Beast: The most popular spot! Keep your screen brightness to the absolute minimum. 🌹✨
The Baymax Happy Ride: You can get some really energetic and fun footage here! 🚗💨
it’s a small world: A classic for great videos. 🌎🎶
Jungle Cruise: Wildlife Expeditions: Filming is OK, but please avoid filming the Skipper (Captain) the whole time. Focus on the animals and the scenery! 🦁🚤
🌋 Tokyo DisneySea (TDS)
Sindbad’s Storybook Voyage: This is where you can film my favorite character, Chandu! 🐯💎
Aquatopia / 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea: Great for mysterious and atmospheric shots. 🌊🚢
Fantasy Springs: The newest boat attractions are also filmable if you follow the rules! ✨❄️
2. 【Watch Out!】 Attractions where Filming is NOT Allowed ❌
Even if it's OK in overseas parks, these are strictly "No Filming/No Photos" in Japan.
I get asked about these very often, so be careful! 🙅♀️
Monsters, Inc. Ride & Go Seek!: To protect the "flashlight game" experience, please keep your camera in your bag! 🔦👀
Pirates of the Caribbean: This is often OK overseas, but it’s NOT allowed in Japan. This is to protect the atmosphere and for safety during the drops. 🏴☠️🦜
Haunted Mansion: No filming at all, so you don't disturb the spirits! 👻🏚️
Soaring: Fantastic Flight: Focus 100% on the flight experience! No cameras allowed. ✈️☁️
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue: Basically, any attraction where you wear 3D glasses is a No-Filming zone. 🛰️✨
3. Unique Japanese Rules & Manners You Should Know ✨
"Below Head Level": When filming parades or shows, you cannot hold your camera above your head. It’s all about "Omoiyari" (consideration)—not blocking the view of the person behind you! 👐🚫
No Selfie Sticks or Tripods: You cannot extend these inside the parks. Keep your equipment handheld and compact! 🤳❌
What if you drop it?: If you drop your camera during a ride, it cannot be recovered immediately. Search operations happen after the park closes, so you likely won't get it back until the next day or later. Please use a wrist strap! 📱⚠️
🌟 Ayumi’s Advice: See the Magic with Your Own Eyes! 💖
Don't get too caught up in filming and miss the real magic happening right in front of you! 🏰✨ The emotions you feel with your own heart, not through a lens, will be your best treasure.
