Ayumi: First, could you please give us a brief self-introduction?

Babsi: Hi everyone! I’m Babsi, a writer and brand strategist based in beautiful Southern California. 🌊 I originally moved here from Austria 🇦🇹 and built my career around storytelling and brand development.

Alongside my agency, SoCal Digital Media, I run a Disney blog called Written in the Queue. 🖋️✨ I love sharing planning strategies, park insights, and those tiny, magical details that most people walk right past. My absolute favorite time at Disney is the Holiday Season! 🎄✨ The fairy lights, special fireworks, and everyone’s jolly mood make me so happy! 🎁❄️

Ayumi: What inspired you to start your blog?

Babsi: It all started with my love for Disney and the precious memories I built with my daughter at the parks in Paris and Anaheim. 👩‍👧🎡

When I first launched the blog, I didn’t have a Magic Key (Annual Pass) yet. So, I spent hours diving into books about Disney storytelling, Imagineering, and park history to truly understand how the magic works behind the scenes! 📚✨ Once I got my Magic Key, I could finally test everything in real time. That’s when my guides became much more hands-on and practical! 🛠️🎢

Ayumi: What kind of topics do you share with your readers?

Babsi: I focus on strategies that make a real difference in your day—like "Rope Drop" approaches and ride timing. 🏃‍♂️💨

But I also like to go beyond traditional guides! I interview Cast Members and share stories from amazing creatives like David Miniatures and others who contribute to the parks in unique ways. 🎨✨ I love adding a deeper layer to the Disney experience!

4. Her Philosophy: Honesty & Extra Magic 🌟💖

Ayumi: What is the most important thing you keep in mind when writing?

Babsi: Clarity and honesty come first. 🤝 If someone follows my advice, I want it to actually work for them in the park!

I’m also obsessed with "behind-the-scenes" magic. 🪄 I love figuring out where that extra spark comes from and how everything connects, then breaking it down so it’s useful for my readers. 📝✨

Ayumi: What are your all-time favorites?

Babsi:

  • Disneyland Park: Space Mountain, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad, and Pirates of the Caribbean! 🏴‍☠️🚀

  • Disney California Adventure: Guardians of the Galaxy – Mission: Breakout! is my #1 🎧💥 followed by Incredicoaster and Soarin’!

  • Food: I keep it simple! A good coffee and a churro are my go-to every single time. ☕️🥨 (The perfect combo!)

Ayumi: I heard you recently started YouTube as well! What can we expect?

Babsi: Yes! 🎥 I’m focusing on park tests and strategy videos. For example: "Can you ride every thrill ride without using Lightning Lane?" ⏱️😱

My channel is still very new, but I’m building it step by step and plan to share much more in-depth content soon! 📈✨
