【Maternity Guide】How to Enjoy Tokyo Disneyland to the Fullest While Pregnant 🤰✨🏰
Hi everyone! It’s Ayumi! ✨ I recently received a wonderful DM from one of my followers asking for advice:
"I’m currently pregnant and planning a trip to Tokyo Disneyland ! I want to enjoy the magic while being careful with my health. Do you have any tips on how to navigate the park🤰✨?"
What a beautiful way to create memories before your new family member arrives! 🥹 Baby moons at Disney are so special. However, I know it can be a bit worrying, like "Which rides are off-limits?" or "How do the current systems work?"
Actually, I visited the park while pregnant about 10 years ago (time flies! lol). Drawing from my own experience and the latest park rules, here is my "Maternity Disney Guide — Tokyo Disneyland Edition!" 🌸
1. ⚠️ Safety First! Rides to Avoid During Pregnancy
Let’s start with the most important part: safety. According to the official Tokyo Disney Resort website, pregnant guests are requested to refrain from the following 4 attractions:
【TDL Off-Limit Attractions】
Big Thunder Mountain 🎢
Splash Mountain 🌊
Gadget’s Go Coaster 🐿️
Star Tours: The Adventures Continue 🚀
These rides involve sudden drops, bumps, or vibrations. Please prioritize your baby’s safety and follow these rules!
Other attractions are generally safe, but it’s crucial to choose based on your stage of pregnancy, health on the day, and wait times. If you’re unsure, don't hesitate to ask a Cast Member!
💡 Pro Tip: If you're worried about the language barrier, use a translation app to show them: 「妊娠中ですが利用できますか?」(I’m pregnant; is it okay to ride?) or 「おなかに赤ちゃんがいます」(I have a baby in my belly). They will be more than happy to help! 💖
2. How Waiting Times Have Changed (Then vs. Now)
When I was pregnant 10 years ago, there was a system called the "Guest Assistance Card." It allowed pregnant guests to wait for their turn outside of the physical line, which was a lifesaver!
⚠️ Current Situation: Unfortunately, that specific system no longer exists. There is a current service called DAS (Disability Access Service), but it’s mainly for guests with disability certificates. Pregnancy alone does not qualify for DAS.
💡 Ayumi’s Insight: Instead, the park now offers DPA (Disney Premier Access — paid fast pass). It seems the park’s stance has shifted toward "using paid options to skip the wait and save your energy." Honestly, I don't think the old reservation system for pregnancy will return anytime soon... 😢
3. Area Guide: Recommended Rides for Expecting Moms
Here are some gentle attractions where you can sit down and enjoy the magic comfortably! ✨

4. Your Modern-Day "Lifesavers" 📱✨
Please use these tools to save your energy!
Disney Mobile Order (A Must!): Standing in long food lines is very tiring for your back and legs. Order via the app and just pick it up when it's ready! 📱🍔
Attraction Entry/Exit Service: If standing in a long line is too difficult, a companion can wait in line while you wait in a more comfortable spot nearby. Please talk to the Cast Member at the attraction entrance to see if this is available for you! 🤝
5. Best Spots to Rest 🛋️
Plasma Ray’s Diner (Tomorrowland):
Lots of seats and a high turnover rate.
Camp Woodchuck Kitchen (Westernland):
Located in a quieter area, making it easier to relax.
Tomorrowland Terrace (Tomorrowland):
Some seats have a view of the parade route—perfect for watching while sitting down! 🛋️
🌸 A Special Message from Ayumi
10 years ago, I visited the park while my baby was in my belly, not long after my husband proposed to me in front of the castle. The air felt so much more peaceful and filled with a different kind of happiness than when I was single. ☺️
During a Character Greeting, I told Mickey I was pregnant, and he gently touched my belly for our photo! 📸
Fun Fact: Among Japanese Disney fans, there’s a happy legend that if Mickey touches your belly, you’ll have a safe and healthy birth! 👶✨ (Is there a similar legend in your country? Let me know in the comments or DM!)
Don't feel like you have to do everything. Just enjoy the music, the scenery, and the delicious treats with your baby. 💖
Next time, I'll share the "Tokyo DisneySea Edition!" ⚓️💙
