When you’re strolling through Tokyo DisneySea (TDS), have you noticed that everyone seems to be cuddling a super cute teddy bear? 🤔🧸🎀 That is Duffy!

Duffy is a true superstar here! Today, I’m excited to share the surprisingly little-known history of Duffy, and introduce you to all his adorable friends, "Duffy & Friends," who are incredibly popular in the park right now. 🥳💖

1. Duffy's Surprising History: He Started in America!? 🇺🇸➡️🇯🇵

Actually, Duffy wasn’t always named "Duffy"! 😮

When he was first released in 2002 at Walt Disney World (WDW) in Florida, he was simply called "The Disney Bear." 🧸

His magical journey to Tokyo DisneySea began in 2004, where he received a beautiful, unique backstory. 💖✨

The Story of Duffy

Minnie hand-made this teddy bear for Mickey so he wouldn’t feel lonely on his long sea voyages. 🌊⚓️

Minnie presented the bear to Mickey inside a duffel bag, so Mickey named him... "Duffy"! 🎒🎁

This touching story captured the hearts of guests all over Japan, and now, Duffy is an icon across Asia! 🌟

2. So Much Personality! Meet Duffy & Friends 🎨🐰🔎

Right now, there are seven friends in the Duffy & Friends group at TDS, including Duffy himself! 🧸

  • Duffy 🧸 (4th from the right in the photo): The pure-hearted and kind leader of the group.

  • ShellieMay 🎀 (3rd from the right): The very first friend Minnie made for Duffy. 💖

  • Gelatoni 🎨🐱 (3rd from the left): A cat with emerald eyes who is a talented artist.

  • StellaLou 🩰🐰 (2nd from the right): A ballerina rabbit who dreams of performing on Broadway. ✨

  • CookieAnn 🍪🐶 (2nd from the left): A curious dog who loves creating new recipes. 😋

  • 'Olu Mel 🐢🎶 (Far right): A turtle from Hawaii who soothes everyone with his ukulele. 🌴

  • LinaBell 🔎🦊 (Far left): A clever fox who loves solving mysteries and always carries her magnifying glass! 🕵️‍♀️

⏳ Waiting Time Tips

On weekdays, the wait is often around 30-50 minutes. On weekends or busy days, it can easily be 60-90 minutes.

(Please Note: Currently, Character Greetings do not offer "Disney Premier Access" (the paid pass). However, depending on the situation, you might need an "Entry Request" (which is like a lottery). Make sure to check the official Tokyo Disney Resort app on the day of your visit! 📱✅)

4. My Family's "Duffy Surprise" Story 💌💖

Actually, our family adds a little bit of "magic" to the morning of our park visits. ✨

When my kids wake up, they find a "letter from Duffy" by their pillows! (Of course, I secretly write it in the middle of the night... 🤫😉💕)

"We're waiting for you at DisneySea! Let's play together!"

Finding this letter makes my kids so happy! They shout, "Duffy is waiting!" and rush to get ready, grabbing their favorite Duffy to bring to the park. 😊🧸

Walking through the park with your favorite Duffy is a special feeling. Why not try it with your loved ones? I’m sure it will become a memory of a lifetime! 💖
