I completely understand this feeling! Whether you are traveling solo or with friends, you naturally want beautiful, high-quality photos to remember your magical trip! But you might also wonder, "Do I need to book a photographer in advance like in other overseas Disney parks?" 🥺💭

Today, I’m sharing everything you need to know about getting your photos taken by official Disney photographers at Tokyo Disney Resort, including rules, popular spots, pricing, payment methods, helpful Japanese phrases, and key differences from overseas parks! 👇✨

First, let’s cover the most important rule!

At Tokyo Disney Resort, bringing your own private, commercial, or third-party photographer into the park is strictly prohibited (NG)! 🛑🙅‍♀️

If you want professional photos taken inside the parks, please leave it to the Official Disney Photographers! They know the absolute best angles, seasonal lighting, and backdrop spots across Castle and Port areas. Best of all, the photo-taking service itself is completely free, so solo travelers can confidently ask them anytime! 🥰✨

📱 How to Find Photographers: Check the App & Map!

Official photographers don't stay in one spot all day long! Because their schedules and locations shift, the best way to find them is by using the Official Tokyo Disney Resort App! 🔍✨

  1. Open the TDR Official App and check the Photo Map!

  2. Look for the Camera Icon (📷) on the map (you can also check real-time wait times and operating hours!).

  3. Line up in order when you arrive at the spot! 🚶‍♀️🚶‍♂️

  4. After taking photos, show your Photo Key (QR code) in your app under "My Photos" so the photographer can link your digital photos directly to your account! 📱✨

Unlike overseas parks where you might buy packages like Memory Maker or Disney PhotoPass in advance, at Tokyo Disney Resort, you simply walk up to a photographer in the park and line up! You can view all your photos in the app for 30 days before deciding what to buy! 🎁✨

💰 Digital Photo Download Pricing

All digital photos taken by official photographers (as well as ride photos!) can be purchased directly through the official app. The more photos you buy, the better the value per photo! 📱💖

(Note: Prices listed in USD are approximations based on $1 = ¥150 for reference.)

  • 1–3 Photos: ¥1,800 (approx. $12.00) 📸

  • 4–5 Photos: ¥2,200 (approx. $14.60) 📸✨

  • 6–8 Photos: ¥2,600 (approx. $17.30) 📸💖

  • Japanese: 写真を撮ってください！

  • Romaji: Shashin o totte kudasai!

  • English: Please take my photo! 📸

2. For Social Media / Wallpapers: "Vertical, please!"

  • Japanese: 縦向きでお願いします！

  • Romaji: Tatemuki de onegai shimasu!

  • English: Please take it vertically! (Portrait mode) 📱✨

3. For Banners / Wide Views: "Horizontal, please!"

  • Japanese: 横向きでお願いします！

  • Romaji: Yokomuki de onegai shimasu!

  • English: Please take it horizontally! (Landscape mode) 🖼️✨

Even if you forget the words, don't worry! Simply hold up your phone, point to the screen, and say "Vertical?" or "Horizontal?" — the photographers will instantly understand with a warm smile! 🥰
