⏱️ TDR Reality Check: How long does it ACTUALLY take to ride Soaring at Tokyo DisneySea on a weekday morning?! 🌋✨

The other day, my family and I spent a wonderful weekday at Tokyo DisneySea! 🌊✨ It was a Wednesday in the middle of the week. 📅 Since June is the rainy season in Japan, this month is usually considered the "low season" with relatively smaller crowds. 🌧️🐌

"Since it’s the low season, maybe the wait times for the popular rides will be shorter, right? 🤔💭"

To find out, we decided to do a little experiment! We entered the park right at the 9:00 AM opening time and headed straight to one of the most popular attractions in the entire park: Soaring: Fantastic Flight! ✈️💨 Let's see how many minutes we actually had to wait! ⏱️🔥

✈️ What is "Soaring: Fantastic Flight"? 🗺️💫

Before we get into the report, let me share a little bit about this amazing ride! 🥰 The official name here is "Soaring: Fantastic Flight" 🏛️✨

The story takes place at the "Museum of Fantastic Flight" on the hills of Mediterranean Harbor. Guests visit this beautiful museum to see various exhibits about the history of flying. 🕊️🎨 Then, as part of a special exhibition, we get to board a magical flying vehicle called the "Dream Flyer" and take off on a breathtaking journey through the sky! 🦅☁️

Actually, you can find "Soaring" at other Disney parks around the world, but did you know that the Tokyo version is the ONLY one where the journey ends with a stunning night view of Tokyo DisneySea (Mediterranean Harbor)?! 🌃🌋✨ This exclusive Japanese finale is absolutely breathtaking and something you DEFINITELY need to experience for yourself! 🥺🇯🇵💖

🚗 Morning Morning Drama: Huge Crowds at the Entrance! 😱💦

Now, back to our family adventure! 🚗💨 Our plan was to arrive at the park by 8:30 AM—at least 30 minutes before opening. But guess what? We got caught in a terrible traffic jam on the way! 😭💔 By the time we finally made it to the park, it was almost 9:00 AM! 🚨

As expected, a massive, never-ending line had already formed in front of the entrance gates. 👥👥🌋

The park opened right at 9:00 AM, but everyone has to go through a baggage security check first. 🎒🛡️ The line was moving so slowly... and while we were waiting, I kept checking the official app and watched the wait time for Soaring get longer and longer by the minute! My heart was racing! 📈🥺💔

We finally managed to pass through the gates at 9:20 AM! 🎉

Usually, our family tradition is to stop in front of the "Aquasphere" (the big water globe symbol) to take some fun photos with balloons, but not today! 🎈❌ We skipped the photos and dashed straight toward Soaring! 🏃‍♂️💨🔥

🍿 10:00 AM: Entering the Line & The Shocking Announcement! 📢💥

Before jumping into the queue, we stopped by the popcorn wagon right in front of the ride to grab some snacks to eat while waiting. 🍿😋 By the time we officially joined the end of the line, it was 10:00 AM sharp. 🕙

Right at that moment, the Cast Member gave us the official update... "The wait time from this point is currently 180 minutes!" 🪵😱🔊 Wow!! 3 hours!! Even on a weekday in the low season, we couldn't escape the mighty 3-hour wait of Soaring! 🎢🌋

The first half of the Soaring standby line is almost entirely outdoors. ☀️🏡 Luckily (or unluckily!), it was a beautifully clear, sunny day! 😭

The blue sky looked gorgeous against the building, but the temperature was super high. Out of the 180-minute wait, we spent about 100 minutes standing in the hot sun. ☀️🥵 If you visit during the warmer months, heatstroke prevention is an absolute must! 🧊💦

However, the outdoor queue is filled with beautiful paintings and historical museum documents about flight! 🎨🦅 It's so detailed that you never get bored. In fact, there are hidden Mickeys and so many cool trivia details hidden here! 🐭✨ (I'll write a whole separate blog post about these secrets later, so stay tuned! 😉💖)

🏛️ Moving Indoors: Into the Cool Museum! ❄️✨

After surviving the long outdoor line, we finally stepped inside the air-conditioned museum! 🏛️🙌 Talk about a lifesaver! It felt so cool and amazing inside.

This is part of the indoor queue—the inside of the beautiful museum. 🌌🎨 The details on the ceiling and walls are spectacular! And honestly, there is a mind-blowing magical illusion that happens in one of these rooms... but I won't spoil it for you! 😉🪄✨

⏱️ The Final Verdict: How long did it actually take? 🤔🏆

We started lining up at 10:00 AM with a 180-minute (3 hours) announcement. But after tracking the time, our final result was... We actually boarded the ride in 140 minutes (2 hours and 20 minutes)! 🥳🎉⏱️

Since we were expecting 3 hours, it felt much faster to us! 🎶 But still, losing nearly 2 and a half hours just standing in line is a big chunk of your day. ⏳💦

If you want to maximize your park time and ride as many things as possible, I HIGHLY recommend purchasing the paid fast-pass called Disney Premier Access (DPA)! 🎫💰 (For Soaring, you can buy a DPA for 2,000 yen per person per ride 💸💳)

Also, if you stay at a Disney Hotel that offers "Happy Entry" (which allows you to enter the park 15 minutes before general admission), you can head straight to Soaring first thing in the morning and ride with almost zero wait! 🏨🏰🌅

💡 Quick Summary & Tips 🧠🌟

Just as a heads-up, Soaring maintained a steady 140-minute wait time all the way until the evening on this day. 📉❌ It is one of those unique attractions where the wait time rarely drops, no matter if it's day or night. 🌕☀️ It's always popular!

If you want to use the regular standby line first thing in the morning without waiting forever, you really need to wake up super early to beat the security lines! ⏰🛌🔥
