【Cash Alert!】Don’t forget your Yen for the Disney Resort Line! 🚃💴

Hi everyone! 😊✨ I have a very important tip to share with you today! 📢

Recently, while providing Real-time Chat Support for my client, I made a "new discovery."

💡 Since I usually use Suica on my iPhone for everything, I totally forgot about this potential trap for international travelers! 😱💦

1. You NEED Cash for Single Tickets! 💴🚫💳

The Disney Resort Line is the monorail that circles Tokyo Disney Resort. 🚝✨ Here’s the catch: You CANNOT use credit cards at the vending machines to buy a single-trip ticket! 🎫❌

While most shops inside the parks are cashless, the monorail ticket machines still require Japanese Yen (Cash). 🪙

Where can you use Credit Cards? 💳 Please note that credit cards are accepted ONLY at the Ticket Center at Resort Gateway Station (right next to JR Maihama Station).

At all other stations, you cannot use credit cards for single-trip tickets at the vending machines. Remember, cash is king at the station! 💴👑

2. Know the Fares! 📋💸

The fare is a flat rate, no matter which station you get off at:

  • Adults (12+): ¥300 (approx. $2.00 USD)

  • Children (6-11): ¥150 (approx. $1.00 USD)

Planning a round trip from Maihama Station to your hotel or the park? Make sure you have ¥600 per adult ready! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 For a whole family, that can add up to a significant amount of cash! 👛

3. Lucky if you have Suica or PASMO! 💳📱✅

If you already have a Suica or PASMO card (physical card or on your Apple Wallet/Google Pay), you can just tap and go! 📲✨ This is much smoother and saves you the trouble of carrying coins.

4. Ayumi’s Special Advice 📸✨

My client was a bit surprised by this "Cash Only" rule, but luckily, she had some Yen on her and was able to buy her ticket smoothly! (Way to go! 👏💖)

(My client tried to buy a ticket at Tokyo Disneyland Station, but they couldn't use a credit card there. 💳

Currently, credit cards are accepted ONLY at the Ticket Center at Resort Gateway Station (the one next to JR Maihama Station).

While this might change in the future and more stations may start accepting cards, for now, please be prepared with cash! 😊💴✨)

Now to keep your magical day from being interrupted by a "No Cash!" emergency at the ticket machine, I highly recommend keeping a few thousand Yen in a small coin purse. 👛🪙

✨ Pro Tip for DisneySea Guests:

If you are arriving at JR Maihama Station and heading to Tokyo DisneySea, it is a bit of a long walk. I highly recommend taking the Resort Line! 🚝 It’s only the 3rd stop from Maihama (Resort Gateway Station), and it takes about 9 minutes to reach the DisneySea station. Plus, the view is magical! 🌊🌋

I hope this little tip helps someone planning their dream trip! ✨🏰💖
